Policies & Procedures
Agreement to Policies: Parents are responsible for reading and understanding the policies.
Tuition/Registration: A non-refundable fall registration fee of $35 by June 15th is required per family for current students, thereafter it will be $50. New student's fall registration fee is $50. Tuition is automatically debited on the first of each month. Tuition begins August 1 and the last payment is June 1. The tuition is based on the number of spaces, not on the number of classes. No tuition reductions for absentees or holidays.
Declined Fees: A $10 fee will be charged for ALL declined transactions. This will include expired expiration dates. After the first declined transaction the fee will be $20 thereafter.
Production Fee: Covers all costs to produce the show and theatre rental. Production fee of $90 will be deducted October 5th. The production date is usually the second or third weekend in June.
Costume Fees: The costume fee will be deducted November 5th. The number of costumes is based on the age & ability of the student and the length of the production.
o 2 ½-3 yrs. Creative Movement: No Costume. (Will not be in production)
o 3-4 yrs. Creative Movement/Intro Tap: 1 Costume $65
o 4-5 yr & 5-6 yrs. Pre Ballet/Tap: 2 Costumes $130
o Jr. Apprentice-Apprentice I: 2 Costumes $130
o Apprentice II-Jr. Elite: 3 Costumes $240
o Elite: 3-5 Costumes $80 each
Picture Fee: Professional group and individual costume pictures will be scheduled during spring session. $10 sitting fee to be deducted on May 1st.
Refunds: There are no refunds for tuition, costume, or production fees for any reason.
Withdrawals: There is a two-month minimum for all lessons. One-month notice within the first 7 days of the month is required to discontinue any classes. Withdrawal must be done in person at the Dance Academy by completing a withdrawal form.
Attendance and Lateness: Students exceeding 5 absences during the fall (Aug-Dec) and 4 absences during the spring (Jan-June) will not be eligible to perform in the spring production. Students exceeding 9 absences for the year could result in changing of level for the following dance year. Repeated tardiness and absences may result in termination of lessons.
Injuries: Please notify the Director of any injuries. If a student is unable to participate in class a doctor’s release will be required to dance. Students wearing knee braces or wrapped ankles will not be allowed to dance without a doctor’s note.
Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on studio property resulting from dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.
Illness: Please notify the office if your child will be missing class.
Weather Closings: The Academy follows the Mansfield ISD for weather closings. No makeup classes.
Conduct: Any conduct unbecoming, such as disrespectful communication and not adhering to the policies of the Academy will be subject to disciplinary action and may, if warrant, result in immediate dismissal from the Academy.
Care of Students: The Academy is not responsible for providing care before or after classes to the students. For excessive late pickups there could be an additional charge.
Rehearsals: At least two required dress rehearsals will be scheduled in June for the students to prepare for the stage.
Dance Attire: Purchase at Dancer's Closet, 817-572-4009, located at I-20 and Little Rd.

-Tights: Pink
-Ballet Shoes: Pink
o 3-5 yrs Pre-Ballet/Tap Classes
-Leotard: Black (no skirt)
-Tights: Capezio pink hold and stretch
-Ballet Shoes: Pink Bloch Full Sole - strings tied in a knot, trimmed and tucked inside.
-Tap Shoes: Black Patten - no strings only elastic or tap ties
o Jr. Apprentice, Apprentice I, Apprentice II & Jr. Elite
-Leotard: Black short sleeve or camisole
-Tights: Capezio pink hold and stretch
-Black jazz pants or black dance skirts are optional.
-Ballet shoes: Pink split sole
-Tap shoes: Black slip on Bloch
-Jazz shoes: Black slip-on boot (optional for Jr. Apprentice and Apprentice I)
o Elite
-Leotard: Black, any style
-Skirt: Black
-Tights: Capezio pink hold and stretch
-Black jazz pants are optional
-Lyrical Shoes: foot pads
-Ballet Shoes: Pink split sole
-Jazz Shoes: Black slip-on
*Pointe Shoes are invitation only.
Hair Requirements:
o Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet/Tap: Hair to be in a bun or pony tail.
o Jr. Apprentice-Elite: Hair must be in a bun unless it is too short for a pony tail.
Cover-ups: Students must wear something over their dance attire and wear street shoes when entering and leaving the building.
