Why Choose UsWhat are the things you should look for when you're choosing a dance studio for your child? Below we have listed the 4 most important factors of a dance studio, as well as our specific qualifications in each section.
1. Facilities of the Studio
The dance studio is where your child will spend all of his or her dance time; thus, it is very important for the studio to utilize top-quality equipment and features, in order to give your child the best experience possible.
Dance Academy of Mansfield offers our dancers state-of-the-art facilities with spacious dance rooms. More importantly, Dance Academy of Mansfield utilizes professional dance floors in each of our dance rooms. These floors help to protect the dancers' bones and joints, which are always at risk from the constant activity and jumping involved in dancing. Our professional dance floors also enable our students to dance longer, without fatigue, due to the floor's effective shock-absorbent features.
2. Class PlacementSomething you have likely worried about is how dance classes are formed. At Dance Academy of Mansfield, we are very careful in organizing our classes according to both age and skill level.
We understand that every student learns and progresses differently, so we create our classes with the intention of being able to cater to each student's individual needs and talents.
Due to our students' easy access to instructor attention, Dance Academy of Mansfield students typically progress at a much quicker rate than at other studios. Even more important, each student receives the correction he or she needs before they acquire bad habits and improper techniques. This can save years of future correction, and it will enable our students to outshine their competition, having learned correct techniques and methods from their very first dance steps.
3. Teachers/InstructionWhen you're looking for a dance studio for your child, you want to know who the teachers are, their qualifications, and what they are teaching. As a parent or guardian, you are naturally concerned about what your child is being taught when he or she is not at home.
Our Instructors' QualificationsAll of our instructors are qualified and knowledgeable about what they teach, and they stay up-to-date on the newest trends and forms of their style of dance. Each has received extensive training in dance, whether it be at a university or under the tutelage of a master instructor, so your child will receive the best dance education available. All of our instructors have been personally taught by Christie Garrett, founder of Dance Academy of Mansfield. They have been specifically trained in the unique structured classes and vision of Dance Academy of Mansfield. Before being given total control of a class, each instructor is carefully monitored and supervised by Christie, until she is satisfied that the instructor is ready take over.
Our students are taught current, innovative dance trends without having to compromise their integrity, something that has become increasingly rare in many dance studios. Through careful teaching methods, our instructors are able to share their love of dance with our students, enabling both parties to relate to and understand one another.
Our Teaching EnvironmentDance Academy of Mansfield can provide your dancer with a teaching environment you won't be able to find elsewhere. When we teach your children, we teach them principles of integrity as well as principles of dance. Our Christian-centered approach to teaching creates a positive and loving environment for our students, so you can feel assured that the principles and values that you teach your child at home are being reinforced at the dance studio.
By creating a positive, Christian environment for our students, our students have a new means of reaching their potential and increasing their integrity. Our training stresses the importance of high self-esteem, spirituality, and integrity, because we know that if a child is equipped with these three principles, he or she will be able to move through life confidently, understanding his or her worth as an individual. We want our students to leave our academy having acquired not only dance skills but life skills.
Another important factor in our teaching environment is the lack of competition in our studio. We don't want our students to feel like they have to compete with each other in order to receive the attention they crave or the progress they're working toward. We teach them the values of unity and team effort, as well as respect for themselves and those around them. We believe that this enables the students to grow together in a healthy environment, where they feel comfortable being their unique selves.
We use Christian dance music and Christian concepts in our dances, constantly reinforcing the teachings our students receive from home. In our recitals, we discuss the spiritual principles our students have been taught in their classes and how we strive to give them a greater purpose than simply dancing. We want their dancing to mean something, both to them and to those who see them dance, and for them to always remember that special meaning.
At Dance Academy of Mansfield, our goal is to teach our students excellent technique while developing close, individual relationships with each student building them up in self-esteem and respect while building upon the spiritual foundation they receive at home. We honestly care about our students that is why we do everything in our power to present them with a comfortable, safe environment to learn and grow in.
4. Recital
Many parents regard recitals with dislike bordering on dread recitals have the potential of being stressful, inconvenient, frustrating, and contentious. Sometimes the dancers don't know their dance well enough and have to look to their instructor for guidance, the costumes don't fit right, accessories have to be bought or made well, the list can go on and on.
When it comes to recitals, Dance Academy of Mansfield has one of the best shows in the area. We put on professional, high-quality performances and seek to alleviate all of the stress and worry that a recital can bring. We believe in creating pleasant, happy memories for families and for our students; our recitals are run and managed in such a way that there is no frustration for the student, the parents, etc., and everyone has a good time. Each student has the chance to perform in a professional, high-quality performance, making their important stage experience something they can look forward to.
All costume accessories are included with the costumes, and all of our students know their dances. We have no instructors lurking backstage, prompting our students. We take such attention to detail with each student that even students as young as 3 or 4 have their dances completely memorized. As they're learning their dance routines, we send our students home with copies of their music, so they can practice their dances at home and memorize it even more thoroughly. We want our students to be a credit to themselves, so they look like pros once they are on stage.
